It Feels Great to Donate…Try It, You’ll Like It!
It can start by dropping off that closet-full of clothes you never wear. Or that table and chair set, lamp and dishes that furnished your college kid’s apartment. Or the computer that’s now obsolete. We’ll take it, ‘recycle’ it, and turn it into revenue that changes lives.
Donations from businesses and schools are equally as important. Goodwill-sponsored Donation Drives in particular are an easy way for companies and their workers, schools and their students, to contribute to their community.
Then shop at Goodwill. You’ll find amazing merchandise and budget-friendly prices. Most importantly, your shopping dollars go directly into the Mission Services programs that change peoples’ lives and help transform the community you live in.
Thank you. Without your donations, shopping, and the support of local businesses, schools and the community at large, we could not perform the Missions that are so vitally important to thousands of individuals throughout Northern Illinois.
Ready to Donate?
Corporate and school donations are a fast-growing part of Goodwill’s revenue stream – the lifeblood of our Mission Services programs that provide jobs, education and job placement services for people with disabilities or other barriers. For example, our GoodGRADS program has helped hundreds of adults earn their High School Equivalency – that all-important first step to employment.
Last year, we received over 19 million pounds of donated goods from people like you. These items became the ‘recycled’ merchandise we sell at our stores. About 85% of the revenue generated flowed back to the community to help people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
Scouts Earn a ‘Good Turn’ for Goodwill
Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is proud to team up with the Girl and Boy Scouts of Northern Illinois to teach the importance of recycling and philanthropy. Every Scout that participates has the opportunity to earn a ‘Good Turn for Goodwill’ patch.
