At Goodwill, we believe in recycling, reusing, and repurposing.  Last year, your generous donations led to over 19 million pounds of reusable items kept from our local landfills by recycling cardboard, shoes, clothing, metals, and computers. That’s green!

Join us in celebrating Earth Day this year at Goodwill Northern Illinois donation centers and stores:

  • Bring in your donations on April 22nd
    • Items accepted:  gently used clothing and linens, shoes, purses, jewelry, computers & computer equipment, home décor, small appliances, sporting goods, dishes, pots and pans, video games, DVDs, books, electronics, and more!
  • For your donation, you will receive:
    • A Goodwill donation receipt to use with this years taxes as a tax deduction
    • The satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to keep items out of our area landfills and helping to keep our Earth green!
  • Stop in one of our local Goodwill stores on April 22nd to:
    • Support the recycling, reusing, and repurposing efforts of Goodwill
    • Receive a complimentary wildflower seed packet at checkout (while supplies last)
      • By planting these seeds, you will help support pollinators such as bees and hummingbirds, which are vital to almost all food crops and tree reproduction
      • The blooms of these wildflowers also support beneficial insects that help your garden with natural pest control
      • These wildflowers absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen, through photosynthesis – GREEN!
